Yasumi Release v2.3 Now Available

These are challenging times, and I hope everybody is staying safe and healthy. Working from home has some great benefits, but for an increased period one could easily feel isolated. Or slowly adding more kilos. For me, one huge benefit is the extra free time gained as I don't need to commute every day. This extra time I gratefully put to good use in working on the Yasumi project.

You have probably seen the new documentation website already, and following I am pleased to announce a new release of Yasumi is available as of today for download or using your Composer configuration.

Yasumi v2.3 is a minor release which brings two new providers to the pool (Canada and Luxembourg) and several important stability and bug fixes for issues discovered since v2.2.

New countries

In v2.3, we can welcome Canada including providers for all its provinces, and for Europe we have added Luxembourg. Austria was already part of Yasumi however in this release also providers for Austria's states are added.

Holidays

Australia

For Australia, holidays that fall in the weekend are included as separate Substituted Holidays. In addition, AFL Grand Final Friday dates for 2019 and 2020 are part of the dates for the state of Victoria.

To be consistent with other holiday providers, all the Australian state names have been renamed to be full names instead of abbreviations.

Croatia

Several changes have been made for Croatia. Statehood Day is celebrated at a new date from 2020 and Independence Day is no longer an official holiday from this year either. Second, Homeland Thanksgiving Day has been renamed to "Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and the Day of Croatian Defenders" starting in 2020. Lastly, Remembrance Day for Homeland War Victims and Remembrance Day for the Victims of Vukovar and Skabrnja is a new official holiday starting this year.

Germany

Germany now has New Years Eve included and Day of Liberation (Tag der Befreiung) is a one-time official holiday in 2020 in Berlin.

Ukraine

Catholic Christmas Day has been added to the Ukraine and the Second International Workers Day in Ukraine was corrected as it has only been an official holiday until 2018. Corrected Ukraine holidays on weekends; these days should have been substitute holidays.

Translations

• Catalan translations added for holidays in Catalonia , Valencian Community, Balearic Islands and Aragon.
• Added American English spelling for Labour Day
• Added French translation for Second Christmas Day
• Holiday names in Danish, Dutch, and Norwegian are no longer capitalized

PHP 7.1

PHP 7.1 is no longer supported from v2.3, as it has reached its end of life.

It took a bit longer than I anticipated, however I hope you enjoy this release of Yasumi.
